I spent a night in Berlin on my way from Dusseldorf to Warsaw, and have a few pics I can quickly upload. (The Dusseldorf video only requires narration now, so it should be done before I leave Warsaw…which will always be the plan once I leave one city.) I didn’t go out and see anything ‘Berlin’ since I’ve done that before and I’m planning on coming back later this summer once Shaeffer and Brotman join the fun. That said, I did do a few fun things in the little bit of daytime (~8 hours) I had there.
First things first: I walked about two miles the wrong direction when I left the train station. Why? Because the street had a very similar name to one that was easier to find on the map. Once I figured that out, I stopped at a grocery store for directions and proceeded to walk another half hour before reaching the destination. Noob.
I had a pretty delicious dinner consisting of a cranberry cheese, a local brie, pitas, avocado hummus, and wine. The hummus was definitely questionable and I wouldn’t purchase it again, but the cranberry cheese was arguably the best cheese I’ve ever had. The wine wasn’t bad either. The whole thing cost less than 8 euro.
After dinner, I went to the bar at the hostel (The Circus Hostel), where I had a beer a Swedish guy while old Incubus music videos blared in the background. The beer was free, too: a tradition at the hostel on Mondays.
Following that, I socialized with the guys staying in my room, one of whom from Singapore who will be in California for an extended period of time in the near future. Around 10 we went to the park with a group of people from all over the world as a pre-game for the (really shitty) electronica club we went to later on. I swear the club had the same stanza on repeat for over fifteen minutes.
The next morning, I woke up on-time, went for a jog, and then had this delicious caprese bagel before heading out to the train station. Like I said, a quick stop in Berlin.
And finally, I leave you with this:
